Trade Federation

These four splendid nations are the model for the rest of the world. They are rich and civilized in everything they do. All races live among each other and most have enough work and money to eat their bellies full. The capitals of these nations house buildings of great wonder. Huge libraries filled with ancient knowledge, honorable knighthoods worthy of their shields, majestic temples for each god and luxurious palaces fitted with all the comforts money can buy. They are also the only cities on the continent with a permanent Eladrin population.

They are ruled by the Assembly: some two-hundred men who decide the future of many lives. Each nation also has a Court, which decides on internal matters. Being connected to any of these institutions assures you of fulfillment of your needs for a lifetime. However, these truly glorious nations seem to be on their way down. The east urges for more ships to ward off pirates while the west says it needs more troops to combat the increasing Elven raids. For these requests, iron is hard needed. It used to be supplied by the islands to the south, but it has become increasingly difficult to obtain. Most mines have run dry and they have had bad luck uncovering new ones, while some have been attacked by evil forces from within the earth itself! There hasn’t been a successful Assembly meeting in months now and conspiracies are being forged. On the other hand, Thieves Guilds seem to prosper in these regions. They have always been where the gold is and are a known factor in the Trade Federation. But in these days of intrigue and betrayal it is lucrative to be an assassin for hire. Smugglers and bandits are also on the rise, with law enforcement failing to get a firm grip on them. The Trade Federation, the bastion of civilization, seems to fall apart.
